The cook prepared a spectacular dinner (photo below), and we were waited on hand and foot. New Year’s eve was spent configuring moorings and PODs, but we got them all in the water just before midnight. They made an announcement on the tannoy outside, as we were the only crew working. Finished at just after 02:00, happy, but very tired. Crew kept us some ‘alcohol-free’ champagne, which wasn’t half bad. New Years day was spent configuring more PODs, but the weather is still a tad too choppy to undertake the oceanographic measurements.
