Ocean Science Consulting Ltd (OSC) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded International Organization of Standardization (ISO) certification by Alcumus ISOQAR (a United Kingdom Accreditation Services [UKAS] accredited certification body) for the supply of marine environmental and offshore support services. Certification has been awarded for ISO 9001: 2008 (quality management), ISO 14001: 2004 (environmental management), and Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001: 2007 (health & safety management). Certification provides an internationally recognised benchmark of best practice management, continual improvement, and control measures for regulatory and legislative compliance.
Worldwide, in the field of marine mammals and anthropogenic noise, OSC is amongst only a few specialist organisations that have attained ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001. OSC has operated according to these standards for 11 years, so a company-wide ethos of continual improvement has always existed; however, official recognition for the company’s management systems and the associated continual assessment required to maintain this status, will serve to further enhance OSC’s services in terms of quality, environmental management, and health & safety.
