PAM operators head to Southern hemisphere…

Two of our lucky PAM operators embarked on the long journey to the Southern hemisphere last weekend, arriving tired, jet lagged but ready to bask in the sunshine before boarding. Keeping a close eye on the ocean during a coastal walk proved to be a good idea and resulted in the first marine mammal sighting of the trip, a fur seal. Here’s hoping for more exciting sightings and PAM detections.

Meanwhile back in the office, and of course in the field, seabirds are taking center stage as staff work to improve their identification skills ready for the European Seabirds at Sea course.
