I’ve always been a nature nerd and enjoyed getting outdoors to experience wildlife, especially the marine kind. After completing a Zoology undergrad, the call of the (wild) whale led me to do my MSc in Marine Mammal Science, where I learnt the research skills needed to mitigate the anthropogenic threats they face.
I joined OSC to get a taste of consulting, and my role as a report writer and marine mammal observer has been incredibly varied ever since. One day I might be tendering for projects, writing client reports, or working on scientific publications, and the next I’m in the warehouse servicing equipment, or offshore as an MMO/PAM operator. It’s great gaining experience in each aspect, and knowing that, ultimately, it all contributes to the protection of marine mammals and wildlife. After all, that’s what we’re here for!
