Having grown up almost the furthest away you can get from the sea in the UK (Leicester), it’s no wonder that I felt driven to go exploring and find it, and I consider myself very lucky to now live and work on the coast and offshore.
I studied Marine Biology and Oceanography at the University of Southampton and have interned at St Abbs Marine Station in Scotland. I spent time working in seal rescue and rehabilitation at Pieterburen in the Netherlands, as well as with various other animals at sanctuaries in the UK.
My role at OSC is varied; ranging from writing technical reports and researching for literature reviews at my desk, to servicing equipment in our warehouse, and working as an MMO or PAMO in far flung parts of the world. I enjoy that I get to travel and contribute to exciting projects with interesting people, all while working to protect marine mammals and other wildlife.
My favourite animal is a common seal, but I do have a soft spot for hedgehogs.
